Using advanced criteria with Sensoft Vision

Switching between Threshold fields and advanced Criteria
By default Sensoft Vision displays a Threshold field, as in Figure 1, and any defect with size larger than this threshold is recorded. If you need more flexibility, you can switch to advanced criteria, by clicking the right mouse button on the Threshold field and selecting "Use Advanced Criteria" from the context menu, see Figure 1. You will now see the Criteria field, as in Figure 2.
Criteria
In the Criteria field, you can enter sentences that define the thresholds for faults and for raising alerts. You can basically enter the specs required by the client, and Sensoft will tell if the spool is Pass/Fail. We present here the basics to write these criteria sentences, but for the complete set of possibilities please refer to Syntax of Criteria.
Faults are recorded only if they are over a threshold. There are different types of faults: Lumps
, Neck-downs
and their x and y components LU x
, LU y
, NE x
and NE y
. If there are too many faults in a certain length an alert is raised. An alert can be a Warning
(a non-critical alert, the product is still ok) or an Alarm
(a critical alert, the product is a fail).
You can specify up to 6 criteria. A criterion can be written like:
Warning if lump > 35 um
Alarm if 10 lumps > 35 um
Alarm if 10 lumps > 35 um in 1000 m
A if 10 lu > 35um in 1000 m
Warning if 10 times 65 > lump > 35 μm
Warning if 10 times 65 > lump > 35 μm each long < 2 mm
Warning if 10 times 65 > LU x > 35 μm each 1 < length < 2 mm
Exclude AI-detected fake faults
During and after a measurement, on the right of Criteria a color box indicates how many faults there were for each of the criteria. The colors for an alarm criterion are: a red flash when a new fault is detected, red when the alarm criterion is met and gradually from light green (no fault) to light red (alarm criterion nearly met). The colors for an warning criterion are alike but in orange: a orange flash when a new fault is detected, orange when the warning criterion is met and gradually from light green (no fault) to light orange (warning criterion nearly met).
Leaving the mouse pointer over the Criteria field shows a complete status of the spool. E.g.:
Not OK
5 alarms: 10 lumps > 35 μm in 1000 m
2 warnings: 1 neck-down > 35 μm
