Question

Can I run two instances of Sensoft Multiline?

 

Answer

Yes, see below. There is a limitation though, that you cannot use OPC UA in both instances, and there may be a better alternative. If your use case is to measure with two Sensystem boxes, it can be done in one instance (recommended). If your use case is to use two horizontal screens, especially in supervisor mode, two instances are necessary.

Steps for allowing multiple instances of Sensoft Multiline:

  1. Add following line to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sensoptic\Sensoft Multiline\Sensoft Multiline.ini : 
    allowmultipleinstances = TRUE
  2. Optional: You probably want the two instances to load two different configuration files. You can do this by creating two shortcuts which each load a configuration file via command line arguments.
